About Our Atlanta Mobile Pizzeria

Event food is usually the least interesting part of a good event. We built a mobile pizzeria around a wood-fired oven, a dough recipe we actually care about, and a service model that puts the cooking in front of your guests.

How we got here

The business grew out of a small obsession with dough. Before we ever catered an event, we spent months working on fermentation times, hydration levels, and how different flours behave in a wood-fired oven. That is still the part of the job we care about most.

Toppings are easy to get right. Dough is where the craft lives. Once we had a recipe we were happy with, the next step was obvious: build a setup that lets us make that pizza anywhere, at any event, without losing quality. That is what a mobile pizzeria is, when it is done properly.

We are based at 1280 W Peachtree St NW in Atlanta, and we have set up our oven at weddings, corporate events, birthdays, and private parties across the metro area. This page is about who we are, how we work, and what you can expect when you hire Round Table Pizza Catering.

Months of test batches before the first booking. Hydration, ferment time, and flour blend are the variables we still argue about.

What we mean by artisan dough

Our dough ferments for 48 hours before it ever sees an oven. That is not a marketing phrase, it is a process decision with real consequences.

Flavor

A long cold ferment develops flavor and structure that a same-day dough cannot match. The crust tastes like something on its own, not just a carrier for cheese.

Texture

Fermentation makes the crust easier to digest and gives it a better chew, so it holds up under a heavy topping instead of collapsing in the middle.

Consistency

We use a blend of Italian-style flours and keep our hydration consistent batch to batch, so the pie you taste at a Tuesday tasting is the pie your guests get on the night.

The bake

In a wood-fired oven the crust browns evenly and picks up a little char at the edge. That happens in about 90 seconds, which is why the timing matters as much as the recipe.

Why we cook on site, not ahead

Pizza is at its best within a minute or two of leaving the oven. Anyone who has eaten good pizza knows this. It is also why we do not cook ahead and reheat. Every pie we serve is made and baked at your event, in front of your guests.

That commitment shapes everything about how we operate: the size of our oven, the way we staff events, the pace of service, and the kind of venues we can work in. It is more work than loading a van with prepared food. It is also the reason our pizza tastes the way it does, and the reason guests tend to gather around the oven instead of drifting away from the food table.

The equipment we bring

Our primary setup is a wood-fired oven mounted on a trailer, with a prep station and a service area built around it. For venues where a trailer will not fit, we can bring a smaller oven setup that goes through a standard doorway. Either way, the oven is the same design: a domed chamber that holds heat and cooks a pizza in about 90 seconds.

What travels with the oven

Alongside the oven we bring a folding prep table, cold storage for toppings, a handwash station, and everything needed to serve cleanly. We handle our own setup and breakdown so your venue staff does not have to.

We ask about load-in routes, power, and surface before the event, because a trailer needs a firm approach and a clear turning space. If a gate, elevator, or stairwell is tight, the smaller oven is usually the better answer.

How we work with venues

Every venue is different. A hotel ballroom has loading dock rules and a service elevator schedule. A private home might have a narrow side gate and a lawn that turns soft after rain. A vineyard might have a gravel area near the tasting room. We ask about these details before the event because they change how we set up.

If your venue requires a certificate of insurance, we provide one. If they have noise or hours restrictions, we plan around them. The goal is to be an easy vendor to work with, not one that creates problems for you or your venue coordinator.

Gravel, lawn, ballroom, or a narrow side gate. We ask first, then plan the setup around what the venue actually allows.

The team on site

A typical event is staffed by two to four people, depending on guest count. One person runs the oven. Another handles dough stretching and topping. A third manages service and keeps the line moving. For larger events, we add a fourth to handle guest flow and any dietary-specific orders.

Everyone on our team has worked food service before, and everyone can talk to guests without being awkward about it. We are not a silent catering crew. Part of the job is making the station feel welcoming, answering questions about the dough, and keeping the queue short enough that nobody misses the toast.

What we do not do

We do not do buffets. We do not do heat lamps. We do not cook pies ahead of time and hold them under a warmer, and we do not offer a menu of fifty items. Our focus is pizza, done well, with a small set of sides and add-ons that complement it.

If you need a full-service caterer with multiple stations and a plated dinner, we are not the right fit. If you want one thing done exceptionally well, that is exactly what we do.

Where we serve

We are based in Atlanta and cover the metro area: Midtown, Buckhead, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Marietta, Alpharetta, and the surrounding communities. We also travel further out for events at vineyards, lake houses, and rural venues, with a travel fee based on distance.

If you are not sure whether we serve your location, send us the venue address and we will tell you directly.

Questions we get asked

A few things people ask before they book, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

How many guests can you cook for?

Our trailer setup works comfortably from around 40 guests to several hundred, with staffing and service time scaled to the count. Tell us your guest number and your serving window and we will tell you what it takes to keep the line moving.

Can you handle dietary needs?

Yes. We can plan vegetarian and dairy-free pies, and we keep toppings separate so a guest with a specific request is not getting a compromise. Tell us about allergies and dietary requirements when you request a quote so we can build them into the menu.

What do you need from the venue?

A firm, level surface to park on, a clear approach route for a trailer, and enough space around the service window for guests to queue. Power is helpful but not always required. We will confirm the specifics with your venue coordinator before the date.

How far in advance should we book?

Weekend dates in spring and autumn fill first. If you have a firm date, get in touch early and we can hold it while you finalize the venue and the guest count. Weekday events usually have more room in the calendar.

Tell us about your event

Send us the date, the venue, and roughly how many guests you are expecting. We will come back with what the setup looks like, what the menu can cover, and what it costs. If you would rather talk it through first, call us during working hours.
