The short version
Most Atlanta events land somewhere between one and two 12-inch pies per guest.
The number depends on whether pizza is the whole meal or one part of a bigger spread, how long guests will graze, and whether you have a late crowd that keeps coming back to the oven. The eight answers below come straight from the questions we field while quoting round table pizza catering in Atlanta.
Before you send a date
The two numbers that decide everything are your guest count and your date.
Know roughly how many people are eating and whether pizza is the main event or a piece of a longer reception. Those two facts let us size the dough, staff the oven, and give you a real timeline instead of a range.
If your venue has a hard load-in window, a noise curfew, or a ceremony you don't want interrupted by a live oven, tell us when you first reach out. Setup and service windows get planned around those constraints from the first quote, not patched in later.
Booking and logistics
Planning the day around the oven
Portions, lead time, travel, and the patch of ground the trailer needs. These four answers settle most first conversations.
How much pizza do I need?
For a full meal, plan on three to four slices per guest, which is roughly one and a half to two 12-inch pies per person across the event. If pizza is one part of a larger spread, two slices per person is usually enough. We'll give you a specific number when we quote based on your guest count and menu.
How far in advance should I book?
Six to ten weeks is comfortable for most events. Peak wedding season in Atlanta runs April through June and September through November, and those dates fill earlier. If you're planning a Saturday wedding in May, reach out as soon as you have a venue and a date.
Do you travel outside Atlanta?
Yes. We serve the metro area and travel to venues beyond I-285 for a fee based on distance. We've catered events at vineyards in North Georgia and lake houses east of the city. Send us the venue address and we'll confirm.
What space do you need?
Roughly the footprint of two parked cars, plus a clear path from where we set up to where we serve. For venues where a trailer won't fit, we bring a smaller oven that fits through a standard doorway. If you're unsure, send us a photo of the space.
Live oven, real time
At most events we serve straight from the trailer through an open window, working the oven one pie at a time. Guests can watch the dough go in and come out, which is why the queue tends to feel like part of the evening rather than a line for food.
Menu, timing and cost
What service actually looks like
Dietary needs, how long the oven runs, what the quote covers, and why the oven stays outdoors.
Can you handle dietary restrictions?
We offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. We handle gluten-free orders with separate tools and clean surfaces, but our prep area is not a dedicated gluten-free facility. If a guest has a severe allergy, tell us and we'll explain what we can and can't do.
How long does service take?
Our oven produces a steady flow of pies throughout service. A group of 80 usually eats comfortably over about 90 minutes. Larger groups take longer, and we plan accordingly. We'll give you a timeline when we quote.
What's included in the price?
The mobile oven, dough, toppings, on-site staff, setup and breakdown, and service throughout the event. Add-ons like salads, appetizers, a grazing board, and dessert are quoted separately.
Can you set up indoors?
Usually, no. A wood-fired oven produces smoke and heat, so it needs to be outdoors or in a well-ventilated covered space. We can serve indoors from an outdoor setup, but the oven itself stays outside.
What to send with your first message
The date and start time, the venue name or address, an approximate guest count, and whether pizza is the whole meal or part of a larger spread. If you already know about dietary needs or a hard curfew, include those too. With those five details we can usually tell you the same day whether the date is open.
If you don't have a guest count yet, send what you do know and we'll work with a range until your RSVPs firm up.
Where we park and set up
A flat, firm surface with room for the trailer and a clear walking path to the serving point. Gravel and grass can work if the ground is dry and level. Parking decks, tight courtyards, and stepped terraces usually can't take the trailer, so tell us early and we'll plan the smaller oven instead.
